Nina Polachek,

Nina Polachek is a Dallas-based soprano and philosopher. She has been featured in recitals and concert series throughout the U.S., singing with ensembles such as the Imperial Symphony Orchestra, The Villages Philharmonic Orchestra, Concert Lyric Opera, and The Word on Broadway Series. At 17, Nina was invited to Bolivia as a featured soloist for their International Festival de Musica Barroca. She went on to study voice at both Boston University College of Fine Arts and Rollins College School of Music in Winter Park, FL. Alongside her vocal training, Ms Polachek studied methodologies of singing (Thesis: “The Dialectic of Singing: Hegelian Aesthetics Applied”). She spent the last 4 years of graduate study developing a philosophy of singing, graduating from Boston University with a M.T.S. in philosophy and aesthetics. She continued this research into post-graduate studies through the Global Center for Advanced Studies and is currently working on a phenomenological approach to singing technique.

In 2018, she was invited by Ann Baltz to participate as an advanced artist in the renowned OperaWorks Program in L.A. Currently, Ms Polachek can be found performing in DFW for groups such as Diversitá Opera Arts Company, Voces Intimae, Open Classical DFW, and Opera on Tap Dallas. In the spring and summer of 2019, she premiered a new children’s opera, Goldilocks! (Goldilocks), for Dallas-based composer, Mark Landson.

Alongside her performing, Ms Polachek serves as administrative assistant for Collins Classical Agency in Dallas, TX. This Fall, she is thrilled to serve as graduate teaching assistant of the Master of Music vocal performance program at Texas A&M-Commerce, under the close mentorship of Dr Jennifer Glidden.
